Care Referral

Overseen by Student Support, a Care referral provides an opportunity for students to meet with a certified case manager who will conduct a needs assessment and then have a discussion with the student about barriers, supports, goals, and resources.

Care referrals cover a wide range of concerns not limited to the following:

-Discrimination, Intolerance, Harassment
-Extended absence from class
-Medical or mental health hospitalization
-Homelessness or unsafe housing
-Hunger or inadequate food
-Difficulty addressing basic needs
-Experienced or been accused of dating/domestic violence, sexual -misconduct (Rape, sexual assault, sexual harassment), stalking or harassment
-Risky or harmful behaviors
-Concern about something the student told you or the way a student is behaving
-Medical leave from school
-Suicidal thoughts or ideations or engaging in self harm

Referrals can be submitted for yourself, or another students. Care referrals can be completed by students, staff, faculty, or anyone connected to students at SRU.
