The Slippery Rock University Police Department provides law enforcement, security services, and police escort services on the Slippery Rock University campus. Uniformed officers regularly patrol the SRU campus and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (formerly known as the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline) offers 24/7 call, text and chat access to trained crisis counselors who can help people experiencing suicidal, substance use, and/or mental health crisis, or any other kind of emotional distress. People can also dial 988 if they are worried about a loved one who may need crisis support. This number is not be contacted if action does not want to be taken. This is essentially a specialized emergency number, so they will send support out to help.
